This Diwali try making these recipes using induction cooktop
Diwali is one of the most awaited festivals. It is not just associated with fireworks and lighting of diyas but also with delicious snacks and sweets. As Diwali is around the corner, here are some recipes that you can make using an induction cooktop:
Kachori: Spicy deep-fried kachoris are great snack items to serve your guests. For the stuffing, mash 2 to 3 boiled potatoes. Place a pan on an induction cooker, heat oil, and add cumin seeds and add mashed potatoes. Now add ½ tsp coriander powder, 1 chopped green chillies, ½ tsp turmeric powder, ½ tsp amchur (dry mango powder) and salt to taste. Mix everything together. For the kachori dough, take one cup of maida, 2 to 3 spoons of sooji (semolina) and ½ tsp salt. Knead well till the dough is soft. Keep it aside for 2 hours. Then make small rounds and place the potato stuffing. Choose the deep fry option on the induction cooktop and fry the kachoris. Serve them with tomato ketchup and mint chutney.
Chakli: This is one recipe that you can prepare a few days before Diwali. Take rice flour and gram flour in equal parts in a mixing bowl. Add cumin seeds, ½ tsp turmeric, ½ tbsp red chilli powder, a pinch of asafoetida and salt as per taste. Add melted butter to this mixture. Now, heat a bowl of water on an induction cooker. Now, use this water to knead the dough. Make sure that the dough is firm and not soft. Heat oil on a deep drying fan on an induction cooker. Press the fry option and start making chaklis on the hot oil. Fry till they are golden brown. Serve them with hot tea.
Jalebi: No festival in India is complete without sweets. Soak urad dal (black gram) for 2 hrs and grind it with very little water. Add rice flour or sooji for crispiness. Add two tablespoon of saffron water. Use a jalebi maker bottle or a cloth with a hole to make swirls. On an induction cooktop, place a deep-bottomed pan, and heat the oil. Choose the deep-fry option from the preset menu and make the swirls on the hot oil. Cook until they are light brown. Soak them in the sugar syrup. You can serve them with rabri.
