
Living in a hostel: Buy induction cooktop and make these yummy Indian recipes in a jiffy
Hostel life is full of fun but there is one thing that everyone misses, it is the home-cooked food. Be it khichdi or paranthas, cooking on your own can be relaxing and make you miss home a bit less. Here are a few yummy Indian recipes that you can cook with our induction cookers:
Aloo gobhi: Served with chapatis, this Indian curry is perfect for lunch and dinner. Take florets of cauliflower and chopped potatoes and put them in a pot and add a teaspoon of salt. Boil it for 10 minutes on an induction cooker. For the curry, take 2 tablespoon oil on a heavy-bottomed pan. Heat the oil and add the cumin seeds. Let the seeds splutter. Then add the finely chopped onions. Stir the ingredients often so they don’t burn. Add ginger and garlic paste. Now add tomato puree. Add coriander powder, turmeric, cumin powder. Stir well and add the boiled cauliflower and chopped potatoes. Add garam masala salt to taste. Cover and cook until they are a little soft. Garnish it with coriander leaves
Lemon rice: This delicious dish from south India is popular all over the country. Easy to cook and great to taste, this is a perfect recipe for lazy Sundays. Take one bowl of basmati rice and add 3 bowls of water. Place it on the induction cooktop and press the rice button. Once the rice is cooked, keep them aside. Now, heat oil in a separate pan, add the mustard seeds, curry leaves, and green chilis. Add ginger and peanuts. Add the turmeric powder and switch off the induction cooktop. Now, in a mixing bowl, stir the cooked rice and this tempering with a spatula. Add fresh lemon juice and salt to taste. Voila! Your yummy lemon rice is ready.
Egg curry: When it comes to quick recipes, eggs are the most versatile food items that you can find in your kitchen. Take 4 boiled eggs. Place a pan on the induction cooktop and heat the oil. Sautee the chopped onions with ginger-garlic paste. Now, add chopped tomatoes and coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, and red chilli powder. Cook until the tomatoes are soft. Now, add 2 cups of water to this and bring it to a boil. Add salt to taste. Gently add boiled eggs to the gravy and cook it for 5 minutes. Make sure to keep stirring. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and enjoy it with steamed rice.
