Using the combo mode of grill and microwave, you can make a variety of grilled dishes like paneer tikka and roasted chicken. Want to know how to make these at home? Well, read the recipes below:
1. Paneer Tikka: It is the ultimate starter for dinner parties and get-togethers. To make crispy paneer tikkas, you need 1 kg paneer. Let’s first see how to prepare the marinade sauce. Mix 3 tsp ginger-garlic paste, 1 tsp chaat masala, 1 tsp black pepper (powder), 2 tsp chilli powder, ½ turmeric and salt to taste with yoghurt. Squeeze one lemon into the sauce. Cut paneer into cubes. Chop onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes in the shape of a square. Now, add paneer and the vegetables into the marinade. Mix everything well. Leave it for an hour. On a skewer (make sure that it is microwave safe), arrange the paneer cubes along with onions, bell peppers, and tomatoes. Place the microwave on grill mode. Select tikka on the auto cook menu. Press start. Allow the microwave to preheat. Once preheating is over, place the skewers inside. Enjoy yummy paneer tikkas with mint chutney.
2. Grilled sandwiches: Grilled sandwiches are perfect for breakfasts as well as evening snacks. For the filling, take one onion, tomato and ½ capsicum. Finely chop them. In a microwave-safe bowl, add all the chopped vegetables, add salt and red chilli powder as per taste. Add one tsp oil and mix everything together. Microwave the mix for 2 to 3 minutes. Spread the butter on both sides of the bread. Place the mixture between the slices of bread. You can also place a cheese slice in between. Change the microwave to grill mode. Grill the bread slices for 2 mins on one side. Then flip to the other side for 2 more mins. Once the slices are grilled well, serve them with mint chutney and ketchup.
3. Tandoori chicken: Wash the chicken with some lukewarm water. Drain out the excess water and pat dry. Cut the chicken pieces, make incisions all over the chicken so that marinade can properly seep into the chicken. Here’s how to prepare the marinade: take one cup of yoghurt, add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, 2 teaspoons dry red chilli, 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder and salt as per taste to it. Marinate the chicken and leave it for an hour. Place the chicken on a microwave-safe plate. Now, brush with oil and grill for 15 – 20 mins. Change sides frequently. Sprinkle some chaat masala and serve hot with onion rings and mint chutney.
