How to make mint chutney in a mixer grinder?
Mint chutney is a fresh and flavourful chutney that can be paired with pakoras, samosas, bhel puri, and other Indian snacks. Besides using this chutney as an accompaniment to several Indian dishes, you can use it as a spread on your sandwiches to give them a minty twist. There are endless possibilities when it comes to pairing mint chutney with Indian snacks.
The best thing about mint chutney is that it is easy to make. With a mixer grinder, you don’t have to worry about manually grinding the ingredients using a mortar pestle. With our mixer grinders, you can make a variety of chutneys in no time.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to making mint chutney in a mixer grinder:
Step 1: Wash 30 gm of mint leaves. Pluck all the leaves and remove the stems. Take a handful of coriander leaves. Wash coriander leaves properly before using them. Remove all the roots and damaged parts from the coriander leaves.
Step 2: On a cutting board, roughly chop the coriander and mint leaves. Now place them in the jar of a mixer grinder. Now, add a small piece of ginger, 2 to 3 garlic cloves, 2 green chilies and a pinch of asafoetida. Also, add lime juice as it lends a tangy flavour to the chutney and at the same time helps it retain its bright green colour. Add salt as per taste. You can also add cumin powder or roasted cumin seeds for a distinct flavour. Add ¼ tsp mango powder if you like your chutney to be a bit tangy.
Step 3: Use the pulse button on the mixer grinder to blend all the ingredients together. Run the mixer grinder until the chutney is smooth. Add water if the chutney is too thick.
Step 4: Taste the chutney. Adjust seasoning as per your taste. Store the chutney in a dry glass jar. When stored in the refrigerator, you can use the chutney for 4 to 5 days. Before serving the chutney, keep it out of the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes.
Not just mint chutney, with a good mixer grinder you can make hummus, mayonnaise dip, tomato chutney and onion-tomato chutney ( plus more!) at home.
